To install RAM in a desktop computer, you must find out what kind of RAM your motherboard can use. To get the most out of your motherboard, get as much RAM you can fit into one slot. To find out the maximum RAM per slot, you divide the maximum supported RAM by the number of slots. Next, you remove the case/covering so you can get inside your computer. Next, touch a metal doorknob or something metal so your static electricity doesn't harm the computer components. Next, put the RAM into the slots it fits in. This is safe because there are no other slots RAM can fit into besides the RAM slots. Next, replace the case/covering. Next, plug everything back up. Next, turn on your system and right click computer and click properties. This will show you how much RAM you have.
